Abstract

This study aims to enhance students’ learning outcomes by utilizing pop-up book media in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning for Grade V students at SDN 16 Dungingi. IPAS is a blended interdisciplinary teaching subject to enhance knowledge related to social and environmental issues at the primary education level using effective and efficient teaching methods and models. The study was conducted in Grade V at SDN 16 Dungingi using Classroom Action Research (CAR), consisting of two cycles. Each cycle comprised four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through student test results to observe learning outcomes. The findings showed that IPAS learning using pop-up book media successfully improved students' learning outcomes. In Cycle I, only 50% of students achieved a score ≥ 70, while in Cycle II, the percentage increased to 75% of students achieving a score ≥ 75. This improvement demonstrates that the use of pop-up book media has a positive effect on students’ learning outcomes. Observation results also indicated that students became more active and enthusiastic during learning activities. In conclusion, the use of pop-up book media is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in IPAS learning, as it creates a more interactive and engaging learning atmosphere, encouraging students to focus better and understand the material more deeply.
