Ratnarti Pahrun, M.PdThe formulation of the problem in this study is whether the ability to speakthrouch the talking stick model in class IV students at SDN 11 Batudaa Pantai canbe increased. The purpose of this study is to improvespeaking ability through thetalking stick model for class IV students at SDN 11 Batudaa Pantai. The modelused in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), by collecting the datathrough oral tests and documentation. The sample of this study is class IVstudents, which amounted to 20 students.From the results of initial observations, it indicates that out of 20 students in classIV, only 4 students (20%) are able to speak, and the remaining 16 students (80%)are unable. After the first cycle is carried out, the first meeting shows that 5students are in the capable category with a percentage of 25%, and those who areunable are 15 students with a percentage of 75%. Furthermore, in cycle I, thesecond meeting show that there are 7 students in the capable category with apercentage of 35%, and those who are unable are 13 students with a percentage of65%. Additionally, in the second cycle of the first meeting, there are 14 studentsin the capable category with a percentage of 70%, and those who are unable are 6students with a percentage of 30%. In cycle I, in the second meeting, there are 18students in the capable category with a percentage of 90%, and those who areunable are 2 students with a percentage of 10%. Based on the results of the study,from the initial observation to cycle lI, students speaking ability experiences aSignificant increase. Thus, it can be concluded that using the talking stick modelCan imprOve the speaking skills of class IV students at SDN 11 Batudaa Pantai inthe Academic Year of 2022/2023.
