Jambura Journal of Community Empowerment (JJCE) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Department of Nonformal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Indonesia. The journal was established in 2020 as an academic platform for disseminating research findings, conceptual studies, and critical analyses related to nonformal education, community empowerment, and community development.

JJCE was first published online in June 2020 and received its electronic ISSN (E-ISSN) 2721-0480 in March 2020. Since its establishment, the journal has aimed to facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical experiences among researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, and other stakeholders concerned with nonformal education and community development.

The journal's initial scope focused on adult education, community education, training, human resource development, and community development. Over time, its publication scope has encompassed a broader range of issues, including educational life skills, early childhood education, educational management, literacy and equivalency education, counseling, vocational training, social sciences, humanities, arts, tourism, and culture, particularly in relation to education and community empowerment.

JJCE is published biannually, with issues scheduled for June and December. Through its publications, the journal seeks to bridge theoretical perspectives and practical experiences, encourage evidence-based approaches to community empowerment, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices that support community learning, capacity building, and sustainable development.

Since receiving SINTA-accredited status in December 2022 covering the period from Volume 1, Number 2 (2020) through Volume 6, Number 1 (2025), the Jambura Journal of Community Empowerment (JJCE) has consistently contributed to the publication process. In 2023, a change in nomenclature occurred: the institutional name serving as the publisher was updated from the "Department of Out-of-School Education" to the "Department of Community Education", which remains the publisher's name to this day.

Since its inception, Jambura Journal of Community Empowerment has continued to serve as a scholarly forum for disseminating relevant research and promoting collaboration among academics, researchers, and community development practitioners at local, national, and broader international levels.
