Post Publication Discussion

Post-Publication Discussion Policy

Jambura Journal of Community Empowerment (JJCE) encourages open, constructive, and evidence-based scholarly discussion after the publication of an article. The journal recognizes that post-publication discussion is an important part of maintaining research integrity, improving the quality of scholarly communication, and ensuring the accuracy of the published academic record.

1. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion

Post-publication discussion may include comments, critical assessments, questions, clarifications, or alternative interpretations concerning articles published in JJCE. Discussions should be relevant to the content, methodology, findings, conclusions, or implications of the published research, particularly in the fields of community education, non-formal education, community empowerment, and related areas.

2. Submission of Comments and Responses

Readers and researchers who wish to comment on a published article may submit their comments to the journal through its official communication channels or manuscript submission system, subject to the procedures established by the editorial team.

Submissions should clearly identify the article concerned and provide a reasoned, evidence-based explanation of the issues raised. Comments must be scholarly, respectful, and relevant to the published work.

Authors of the original article may be invited to respond to substantive comments. The journal seeks to provide a fair opportunity for academic exchange while maintaining editorial independence.

3. Editorial Assessment

All submitted comments and responses are subject to editorial assessment before publication. The Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor will evaluate their relevance, academic merit, factual basis, clarity, and compliance with publication ethics.

Where necessary, the journal may request revisions, consult independent experts, or use peer review to assess the scientific validity of a submission. Comments and responses must not contain defamatory statements, personal attacks, discriminatory language, confidential information, or unsupported allegations of misconduct.

4. Publication of Discussions

Accepted comments and responses may be published on the journal's website or through another appropriate publication format determined by the editorial team. Where possible, the discussion will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency and facilitate scholarly reference.

The journal may establish appropriate limits on length, format, and supporting references to ensure that discussions remain focused and constructive.

5. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions

If a post-publication discussion identifies a potential error, ethical concern, or issue affecting the reliability of a published article, JJCE will assess the matter in accordance with its publication ethics policies.

Depending on the findings, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, as appropriate. Serious allegations of research misconduct may be referred to the relevant author's institution or other competent body for formal investigation.

A comment or disagreement alone does not automatically justify correction or retraction. Editorial action will be based on an appropriate assessment of the available evidence.

6. Ethical Standards and Transparency

All participants in post-publication discussions must adhere to principles of academic integrity, fairness, respect, and transparency. Authors, commentators, and editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest where applicable.

The journal will handle submissions impartially and will not suppress legitimate scholarly criticism merely because it challenges the findings, interpretations, or conclusions of a published article.

7. Editorial Decisions

The editorial team retains responsibility for decisions concerning the assessment, revision, acceptance, and publication of post-publication comments and responses. Decisions will be made according to the journal's editorial policies and applicable publication ethics standards.

8. Commitment to Scholarly Integrity

JJCE is committed to fostering a responsible and constructive post-publication discussion process. Through this policy, the journal aims to strengthen academic dialogue, support continuous improvement in community empowerment research, and preserve the reliability of the scholarly record.

This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing and recognized publication ethics guidance.
